Frosted Donut Friday

June 2, 2017

#frosteddonutfriday has been a thing for my daughter and granddaughter for nearly a decade. Today it will be a free thing… Well, with the purchase of a beverage at their donut shop of choice. Yes, it’s National Donut Day, and my girls are lucky they live in the Boston area because they have choices! One 2016 article claimed Boston has one donut shop for every 2,480 people making it the donut capital of the United States! The most recent US Census Bureau report (2012) indicated there were 8,736 donut shops in the US employing 83,972 with a payroll over a billion dollars a year. According to the report, the industry itself generated nearly $5B in 2012 revenues.

It is estimated 10 billion donuts are consumed in the US every year, but as this donugraphic points out, it would take over 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 (that’s a quintillion) 3-dimensional donuts to fill the distance between Earth and Proxima Centauri

A quintillion. I love scale. We do quite a bit of scale here at Kronos getting customers productive on our HCM and Workforce Management solutions every day. Just last week, our services team helped organizations roll out 51 Kronos product modules supporting 55,996 employees… And we do more than just get customer up and running and their employees trained. We work with customers every day to help them get more value from their Kronos investments. And sometimes we bring donuts.

There’s some frosting on a Friday…
