Data. Make it so.
For the past few hours I’ve been at the bottom of a spreadsheet under 45,192 rows of data. I started with a spreadsheet of all customers trained to date by Kronos since 2010. That data wasn’t pristine, so I dropped by our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to build a query to find the correct industry missing in 1,526 customer records. Then I joined the 2 databases using Microsoft Access. Finally, using Excel again, a pivot table revealed:
We train a lot of customers.
The cool thing about data is that it’s precise. Yeah, our education team trained 40,036 students during the past 3 calendar years on our workforce management solutions. I know, it’s not cool “big data,” but even that has its limits. It’s just data, but the numbers are real, and they’re fabulous.
