“It’s all about choices.”

September 10, 2012

Friday night (Play)Joyce and I sat at the bar of a new, local restaurant for dinner. Fortunately, the wide screen flickering dismal images of the Boston Red Sox was angled away from us. The menu was right in front of me. Like a game of pong, I volleyed between the healthier veggie pizza and the burger… with bacon. “What are you having, Honey,” asked (Play)Joyce. Looking back, I think her inquiry had one primary purpose: did fries come with it? “I’m having the veggie pizza. It’s all about choices,” I responded with certainty. Starch deprived sadness filled her eyes. She composed herself, frantically scanning the menu…

At this point, I need to transition to (Work)Blog stuff about our Virtual Kronos Customer Experience, and the easiest way to do that is by using The Matrix as a metaphor, so that’s exactly what I’ll do.

It’s all about choices. Veggie pizza or burger? Blue pill or red pill? Attend our Virtual Kronos Customer Experience on Tuesday (tomorrow) or finish that spreadsheet for your boss? I could try to describe what it will look like, but as Morpheus told Neo, “Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.” Indeed. What I can reveal is that once you choose the (Kronos)red pill, you can chat with us or with other customers, watch pre-recorded sessions, read posted propa… uh, content that’s been posted, and tomorrow from 1-2pm, attend our live keynote presentation, Is It Time for Kronos Cloud Services? And yes, Trinity. It is.

Here’s the complete agenda.

Meanwhile, back at the bar… “Ritchie,” the bartender approached. Joyce ordered a healthy, post-yoga salad with grilled chicken. Ritchie turned to me. “I’ll have the burger. Medium.” I could feel her eyes illuminating me with the heat of a fryalator. I had to look over. She smiled and said, “It’s all about choices.”
