Help Wanted: Approve your own Overtime!

February 25, 2016

16974958-largeYesterday a co-worker sent me a quick email:

Maybe something to blog about:

MBTA worker doubled pay by approving own overtime

The story talks about a KPMG audit of the Mass Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) that uncovered, among other things – that an employee with a base pay in the $84,000 range, made over $325,000 in a year by approving his own overtime… If you do the math and simplify it by assuming all the OT was calculated at time and a half, this employee worked about 6,100 hours during the year. That’s 16.7 hours per day – every day of the year. This guy must have some secret physics trick to elongate the 7.3 hours per day he had to do everything else, including sleeping.

Anyway, controlling overtime costs is right in the wheelhouse of workforce management, and Kronos helps hundreds of government agencies do just that.

My first thought was: where is Kronos sales? They need a serious change and Kronos is perfect for the MBTA.
