I got the (Integration) Blues
This week I received a beautiful Apple Watch as a gift. Now I’m glad I didn’t open it because it requires an iPhone to uh, work. It will not integrate with an Android phone. I’m bummed, but my Fitbit Charge HR will continue dutifully tracking my beating heart and informing me of an incoming call, just not as stylishly.
Integration is not trivial. Just this week I was chatting with a friend about the challenges he faced trying to integrate a new web eCommerce solution with an older back end point of sale system. As Clubber Lane said to Rocky… “Pain.”
Not so much for our Workforce Central customers. Kronos consultants using our Workforce Integration Manager have probably integrated Workforce Central with every HR, Payroll and ERP system around, including ADP, Ceridian Premier, JD Edwards, Lawson, Oracle, Paychex, PeopleSoft and UltiPro, just to name a few. Most of our integrations use standard XML (Extensible Markup Language).
Why can’t integrating an Apple Watch with Android be this easy?
