Breaking Glass in Tennis and in Work
Last night at dinner with (Play)Joyce we were talking about the US Open tennis match between the Williams sisters, Venus and Serena, two of the best to ever play the game. The conversation drifted to a couple PBS documentaries that aired over the weekend on two other women’s tennis greats, Althea Gibson and Billie Jean King. Joyce commented, “It got me thinking about the struggle women faced before our (boomer) generation. I should be more grateful for what they did.” I know she is.
With that, my blog was written for today. It’s still not an easy road for women, but as our generations progress, it continues to improve, often by women helping women. 5 ways women can help women succeed in the workplace is a pretty good article on ways to do it. We work at it here at Kronos. Next month at our Global Sales kickoff meeting we will be hosting the fifth annual Kronos Women’s Leadership Forum. I’ve never been, but the ladies rave about the event, the speakers, and the inspiration.
