Kronos Spotlight Series

August 12, 2015

This is the first in a series of profiles of Kronos employees who work hard to deliver the experience our customers expect. By Terri Edkins.

Sears

Who: Danny Sears

What: Global Cloud Sales Expert

Time at Kronos: 15 months

Best part of the job: Being connected with customers

The intelligence? It’s a given. After all, his father is a rocket scientist and his mother was a chemist. The musical talent? It’s a passion.

Danny Sears studied music for 10 years and learned to play the piano and the trumpet. Like many of their generation, his parents encouraged a more formal educational foundation but he has music in his soul, and pursued Jazz Performance studies in college. He found success collaborating with the bands Guster and String Cheese Incident and he toured with John Mayer. He still finds time to play.

But Danny was always surrounded by technology. He began working at the Apple Genius Bar, the tech support stations located inside its retail stores. It was there that the emphasis on service and support laid the groundwork for how he approaches his works today: “I want to wow Kronos customers.”

And he does. Every day he’s out there helping manufacturing organzations understand the value of the Kronos Cloud and why they’ll benefit from making the move. Maybe it’s the musician’s mantra: practice makes perfect. Maybe it’s that he’s empathetic to what customers need. Whatever it is, it works.

Love this series idea, Terri. If I stayed on vacation would the great ideas and posts continue to flourish? I’m willing to take one for the team! Nice profile on Danny.
