The Face of Your Generosity

May 28, 2015

How wonderful that no one need wait a single moment to improve the world.
– Anne Frank

15-SEGL-social-IconsI’ve been blogging about the Summer Experiences in Greater Lowell charity for a few seasons now. While the small organization is part of the Kronos GiveInspired program, it’s important to me because our Barb Vlacich and (Play)Joyce work so hard on it as 2 of the 3 co-chairs. Tonight is their big fundraising event, the Martini Spring Fling. You can still attend, but if you can’t make it, you can help by bidding online for some cool silent auction items. This shows you how.

Why SEGLThe Martini Spring Fling is a dressy event, and is so tastefully done by the organizers. It’s at a beautiful country club, and there’s great food, and of course, martinis. For me, the highlight of the night is when some of the local kids tell their story about how the opportunities SEGL creates impacted their lives. Olf is one of those kids, and I remember his story well. Born in Gabon, civil war made he and his family refugees. In 2007, they emigrated to the US, and in 2009 an organization helped by SEGL provided Olf a job. Today Olf is a junior at Merrimack College. You can read Olf’s and other SEGL success stories here.

There’s no need to wait a single moment. You can help today.
