Electric Ladyland

December 1, 2014

kitchenMy kitchen/2 bathroom renovation is limping toward the finish line, and as I add up the costs, it’s clear to me that lighting is one of the most cost-effective investments you can make for your home to shine. I have to give credit to my daughter for requesting under-cabinet lighting and dimmable LED’s everywhere. It creates warmth. This weekend I replaced every bulb in my house with LED’s, so we’ll see if they’ll dim my electric bill… Oh, I also went the LED route for Christmas tree lights, but they were vetoed by the family… Too glaring and blueish. I’m back to the schematic on that one.

electricladylandSpeaking of electric lighting, Beth O’Connor is a career union electrician and our latest 1 in 100 Million employee! One of the brightest parts of Beth’s job is “working on the team lighting up the Boston Common for the annual holiday tree lighting — and the thrill of seeing them all come on at once.”

Thanks Beth. I’m looking forward to seeing them in person.
