“Which do you support, Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act?”

ACA EstimatorYeah, it’s a trick question, and here’s a pretty scary clip from Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he sends a crew out to pose the question to our citizenry. “Obamacare” and the Affordable Care Act are one in the same, of course, but you wouldn’t know it based on some of the responses. At one point, the interviewer asks an obviously uninformed woman, “Do you believe an informed citizenry is essential to a democracy?” With unintended irony, she responds, “Yes.”

Meanwhile, businesses are continuing to develop their strategy to comply with the law. Kronos has just launched an “ACA Estimator” to help organizations understand their options. The free tool approximates the costs of either offering insurance to full-time employees or paying the $2,000 per-person, per-year penalty. We also have an Affordable Care Act resource center on our website to help organizations understand and plan for implementation.

Now, I don’t know if this is comedy or tragedy, but here you go…
