Elysium is THE CLOUD!!!
I’m struggling to connect What the cloud will look like in 3 years with Elysium, the new dystopian flick about what Earth will look like in one hundred and forty one. It’s not working this morning, though, much like the film itself, based on a couple reviews read. No. Wait. I think I’ve got it! Here’s Rotten Tomatoes description:
“In the year 2154, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. The people of Earth are desperate to escape the planet’s crime and poverty, and they critically need the state-of-the-art medical care available on Elysium.”
Yeah, fine… Class warfare, the environment… blah, blah, blah… I want to see it, but here’s what the film really symbolizes:
“In the year 2017, two classes workforce management customers exist: the very smart, who live in a pristine environment called the Kronos Cloud, and the rest, who live in overpopulated, on-premise data-centers. The IT people there are desperate to escape the dark service pack forest, and they critically need the state-of-the-art systems management available in the cloud.”
The cloud. It’s better up there.
