Show and Tell

November 20, 2012

Last week at KronosWorks2012, I was a live audience participant for the Social Media Show, hosted by the Director of Social Engagement for SHRM, Curtis Midkiff. It was a fun and informative session held on Google Hangouts, but what I really took away from it was a very funny line from Curtis. He said, “Remember show and tell as a kid in school? I believe the dropout rate between first and third grades was like 0% because of recess and show and tell.” Curtis went on to say that in his class, “if you couldn’t show, you couldn’t tell.” When I recently blogged about one of my KronosWorks sessions, reader “Ron” asked…

Any chance of seeing “the Cloud why so serious” for us non kronites?

I guess I’ve got to show… Since this is a technology blog, I want to add that the process of recording this in GoToMeeting, and then getting a version on YouTube with the video and audio synced correctly has been an arduous adventure of downloading and learning video editing software like Handbrake, WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe, and finally Microsoft Expression Encoder. The software out of Redmond finally got it done. Like cooking a Thanksgiving dinner, at the end, I was so sick of dealing with it, I’m not sure I wanted to eat it. Hey, I hope this turkey tastes good to you. I recommend viewing the video in full screen mode. Bon Appétit!
