For Good

November 17, 2011

It’s interesting to me how post headlines are created. I was going with “Doing Good,” which would have been followed by how Kronos is also “Doing (Very) Well,” but then this song from my son’s favorite Broadway show popped into my head… So there. That’s how it’s done.

On this Thursday, Kronos held our annual Thanksgiving luncheon at all the corporate cafeterias in Chelmsford, MA. Our VP of HR, Dave Almeda wrote, “on behalf of all Kronites, and in the spirit of the holiday season, Kronos will once again be making a charitable contribution to Junior Achievement Worldwide, the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.” Hey, a free lunch is always cool, and it’s especially fun today when the entire contingent of CXO’s and VP’s channel their inner Tom Colicchio or Carla Hall, don a goofy chef’s hat and serve it up! Even CEO Aron Ain gets in on the “fun” every year. Here he is dishing out some free advice to go with the turkey! I guess the big guy doesn’t buy the whole tryptophan thing…

Anyway, in addition to today’s lunch and contribution, we’re also doing a few other things this holiday season to… well, just because…

  • Food Drive – In partnership with Sodexho and Helping Hands, we’re collecting food and cash to assist the Merrimack Valley Food Bank in helping local families before Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  • Coat Drive – Yeah, it gets cold up here in New England, so we’re working to wrap coats around the needy.
  • Toy Drive – We’re collecting new toys for children of all ages on behalf of Toys for Tots.

Well, even though you missed today’s noshing, there’s always next year. We’ve got 49 open positions here in Chelmsford and another 80 across the country and globe! Check it out. And if you come to Chelmsford in the next few weeks for an interview, bring food, a coat or a toy.

You’ll be changed for the better.
